We are building AI for elder care that protects every elder and verifies every dose, with dignity at the centre.
Our mission
MedTrix exists to make the two most preventable risks in elder care, falls and medication errors, far less likely to cause harm. We detect falls in seconds and verify that medication is actually taken, on a single on-device unit that keeps raw video in the building. We start in Ireland's care homes and grow to families and the wider EU.
Why we started
This problem is not abstract for us. It happened in our own family.
- 2018, my grandfather fell outside his home and was not found for a long time, lying in pain. He became bedridden. Doctors said earlier intervention could have changed the outcome.
- 2022, my grandmother fell in her bathroom and lay there for 30 minutes in agony before anyone found her, fracturing her arm and ribs.

We built MedTrix so that “nobody knew” is never the reason help came too late.
What we do
- Fall Detection AI — hybrid video and sensor fusion flags a real fall in under 30 seconds (target) and alerts carers, family, and responders.
- Medication Verification AI — vision AI confirms each dose is actually taken, not just dispensed, and keeps an adherence record for carers and GPs.
- One on-device unit runs both, privately. No raw video ever leaves the building.
What we believe
Camera-based monitoring that compromises dignity is not something we will ship.
A reminder is not proof; a dispensed pill is not a taken pill.
On-device processing, consent-led, inspectable. GDPR, HIQA, and EU AI Act aligned.
Edge-processed and energy-efficient, so quality monitoring is within reach for care homes and families.
